GISBORNE CITY COUNCIL CIVIL DEFENCE OFFICER THE Gisborne City council is currently arranging with the Cook County Council to implement a combined Civil Defence Scheme for the purpose of carrying out Civil Defence in the area covered by the two authorities. . Previously a Part Time Civil Defence Officer managed the Civil Defence Scheme for the Gisborne City Council and the Cook County Council scheme was managed by its own staff. It is the intention of the Combined Organisation to appoint a Civil Defence Officer on a full time basis to implement the change and write the Combined Civil Defence Plan. The previous Civil Defence Officer has resigned and both authorities are currently using existing staff to organise Civil Defence matters. Salary will be according to experience and will be subject to negotiation between the Combined Organisation and the successful appointee.
