Continental Caterers Rangiora upset Big Softy Aranui in the main game of the Cooper Henderson Women’s Division I basketball championship in Cowles Stadium last evening defeating Aranui with a strong challenge in the final four minutes, 37-33. Yvonne Kerr (6) and Kim Smith (11) were the main architects of Rangiora’s victory rattling Aranui into many uncharac-

teristic errors. The competition leaders Ad ; miral Lodge Checkers had a disastrous first half missing many easy lay-ups and 18 free throws against Hagley. Its teamwork and shooting improved to eventually win, 53-20. Pauline. Gilbert (13), Denise McKay (14) were Chequers main contributors. CCL University defeated Rebels in the third game, 54-40.
