Taxation
Sir,—l came from Britain to New Zealand because the ecomomic situation and especially the tax situation were making it difficult for me to make ends meet. I was particularly horrified by Value Added Tax and such-like because all they are is more tax on just about everything you can imagine, even fish and chips. Now I see they are trying to introduce that here. This shows to me what desperate measures our politicians are thinking of to get themselves out of a situation they are
responsible for. Increasing taxes in any way at all is no answer as we all know.— Yours, etc., P. LORD. July 6. 1982.
