NZPA Amsterdam The Netherlands defied the forecasters to win the Champions’ hockey trophy tournament humbling the World Cup holder, Pakistan, 7-2, in the final match. The penalty-corner specialist, Ties Kruize, was the Dutch hero, firing home five goals, four from penalty corners and one from a straight penalty. Pakistan was the clear favourite to win the eightday event, which grouped the top six nations from last

January's World Cup, and it led the competition until Monday when it went down, 4-5, to India. In the last matches, Australia beat India. 7-2, and West Germany beat the Soviet Union, 2-0. The Netherlands ended the competition undefeated, with nine-points from five games. Australia was second with six points, ahead of India on goal average. Pakistan was fourth. West Germany fifth and the Soviet Union,'which lost all its games, sixth.
