Malay G.P. win for Lawrence
NZPA-Reuter Kuala Lumpur Graeme Lawrence of New Zealand steered his new Ralt RT4 to an' easy victory on the first day of the Malaysian Grand Prix at the Shah Alam racing circuit on Saturday. Lawrence, aged 42, retained the title he won last year. Geoff Nichol of Australia. driving a similar car, finished second two laps behind. In a bid for top honours in the motor-cycles up to 125 cc race, Joanne Meiklejohn, of New Zealand, came fourth. In the motor-cycle grand prix, Keiji Kinoshita of Japan, on a Yamaha YZRSOO, easily took the chequered flag. Following are the first-day results: Grand prix for cars: Graeme Lawrence (N.Z.)
