Rakaia Huts
Sir, — May I point out that the Rakaia Huts area was named many many years before any of the present owners acquired their property there. In this case if they are so embarrassed with its present name,- why did they go there in
the first place? They must have been aware of the fact that it always has been and still is a fishing place. Do the people in question realise the expense that will be incurred by changing road signs, maps, etc., should the name be changed, and this must eventually affect the rates. I cannot see any difficulty other than carelessness with the postal delivery providing North and South have different rural mail numbers. — Yours, etc., A G. MATHER.(Mrs) May 27, 1982.
