Jordan leads chess
Tony Jordan,... of Timaru Boys’ High School, was the only player to have scored the maximum four points after four rounds of the seven-round Canterbury schoolpupils’ chess tournament which continued at the Canterbury club’s headquarters yesterday.. However, a vital game between the top seed, Brett Cameron (Shirley Boys’ High School), and Terence Daken (Mairehau), was adjourned, the position favouring Daken. Those with three points were: Michael Hampl, Ben Alexander, Robert van Noblelen, Joseph Blackman, Tim Clements, Adrian Sands and Jan Alabaster. Results from yesterday were.— Third round: B.
