Search fees increased
PA Wellington Fees payable under the Birth, Deaths, and Marriage Regulations will be increased from June 1, the Minister of Justice (Mr McLay) has said. The increase would take into account the increased costs of maintaining the services provided by the births, deaths, and marriage registries, he said. At present, there is a graduated scale of search fees based on the number of years searched. This will be replaced by a flat fee of $1 for every year in respect of which a search is sought.
