High Court judge appointed
PA Wellington An Auckland Q.C., Mr John Wallace; has been appointed a High Court judge. The appointment will take effect on July 30. Mr Wallace, chairman of the Equal Opportunities Tribunal since its inception in 1978, has been a barrister since 1959 and a Queen's Counsel since 1974. He is a past president of the Auckland District Law Society and a past vicepresident of the New Zealand Law Society.
