Ninth liaison officer
Constable Isaac McCully, the ninth and last community liaison officer to be appointed in Christchurch, admires the view from his temporary office on the sixth floor of the central police station yesterday. Constable McCully’s “patch” will be Shirley-St Albans, but he has yet to be provided with an office “onsite.”
“I will be working from central initially but I will be getting out and meeting as many people as possible,” he said, perusing the “Shirley contacts book.” Constable McCully, aged 52, has been in the New Zealand police for 26 years. Before coming to Christchurch, he was stationed at Dunedin, Reefton, and Oamaru.
"I have always been interested in people. If I had the choice over again, I would be a policeman,” he said yesterday. Other areas with their “own” policeman are Syden-ham-Cashmere, Addington, Hornby, Riccarton, Bishopdale, Papanui, New Brighton, and Woolston.
