Airport signs suggested
It might be time for signs in more than one language at Christchurch Airport, Cr Morgan Fahey told the City Council’s public utilities committee yesterday. Considering the number of tourists passing through the airport, it would be helpful to have some signs in Japanese and French, he said. The airport ■ already has
international picture signs, and a translator service. The airport director, Mr M. W. Atkinson, said his own observation led him to believe that the Japanese had no need for signs in their language. “I don’t think the Japanese have any trouble getting round," he said. “It is always the dumb' Kiwi who gets lost."
