NOON FORECAST

General Forecast: Over most of the North Island, and the north and east of the South Island, the weather should be mainly fine. Scattered showers in Fiordland, Southland and Westland during the day, followed by a south-westerly change in the afternoon or evening. Isolated showers with moderate south-wester-lies are also expected afternoon and evening in eastern coastal areas about Timaru. District forecasts: Canterbury: Some cloudy areas this morning after inland frosts and a few fog patches, otherwise fine with light winds and a mild afternoon but evening change to moderate cool south-westerlies in South Canterbury with a few showers. Marlborough: Generally fine weather; winds mainly light after inland frosts; mild this afternoon, but

cool south-westerlies this evening. Nelson, Buller: Fine weather with light winds afterovernight frosts; mild this afternoon, but sonie showers in Buller this evening. Westland: Northerlies gradually developing with skies becoming cloudy and scattered showers spreading northwards during the day; change to cooler moderate south-westerlies. Fiordland: North-westerlies becoming fresh for a time south of Doubtful Sound; scattered showers spreading north followed by a change to cooler moderate south-westerlies. Outlook: Becoming fine in Canterbury' after early showers; fine in Marlborough, ■ Nelson and Buller, fine with isolated showers in Westland; scattered showers in Fiordland.
