Masters swim carnival
"Masters" swimming, the new dimension in a young person's sport, for those aged 25 and older, makes its carnival debut at Wharenui pool this evening. The Christchurch group has a special reason for getting into competitive gear, for the world championships are to be held at Queen Elizabeth II Park next
year, and this meeting is the first aimed at attracting a strong Canterbury entry. This evening’s meeting, which includes entries from „ Nelson and Dunedin, has 33m .and 100 m races in all four strokes, a 409 m freestyle, and one-lap medleys, both with and without butterfly legs.
