Chance for N.Z. filly

NZPA - Sydney The New Zealand filly, Noble Heights, gets another chance today to show that she is better than her Australian form suggests when she runs in the $75,000 A.J.C. Oaks at Randwick today. ' Noble Heights has not run up to expectations in her Australian campaign, doing no better than'fourth in four starts. But her owners are persisting and she will be ridden in the Oaks by the

New Zealand jockey, Gary Phillips. She has drawn wide at barrier No. 13 but that should not be a major problem over 2400 m. The record-breaking filly, Rose of Kingston, has been declared a doubtful starter for today’s big race. Her trainer Bob Hoysted said yesterday that Rose of Kingston had “pulled up well” after her great win in the $200,000 A.J.C. Derby at Randwick on Monday and

her next start will probably be in Saturday’s $150,000 Sydney Cup (3200 m “Rose of Kingston was only left in the Oaks field as a precautionary measure and at this stage there is a strong possibility that she will line up in the Cup,” Hoysted said. “However, I will not make a definite decision about the cup until Thursday (tomorrow) evening, after I have a blood count taken of her that morning,” he said.
