Concern about Games

PA Wellington The Australian Prime Minister (Mr Fraser) and his Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Anthony Street, passed on their concern about the Commonwealth Games when they met the Minister of Trade and Industry (Mr Templeton) last week.

Mr Templeton told journalists on his arrival home yesterday, "Mr Fraser men-

tioned his concern about the Games and that he hoped they would be successful. I certainly confirmed our view that they should be.” Mr Street had made the same points.

Asked about reports that New Zealand might be asked by the Australian Government to backtrack on its stand over sports contacts with South Africa, Mr Templeton said: “They gave me no indication on that.”
