Wellington reporter The horses which died on a Cook Strait crossing ori Sunday were carried at the owners’ risk, the Prime Minister (Mr Muldoon) said yesterday. “The man in charge of the horses was warned before the sailing that there could be problems from rough weather,” Mr Muldoon said. “He was advised verbally that they would only be accepted at the owners’ risk.” The Railways Corporation had been having problems with horses having to be put down in rough weather, and had introduced an “owner’s risk” policy, he said.
