Macdoon dead
PA Ashburton The Prime Minister’s horse, Macdoon, died in a float on Saturday just before returning to the South Island. He was found dead by his Leeston trainer, Freeman Holmes, when the float reached Wellington. The Noodlrim — Barbara Del colt had been campaigning in the North Island. It is believed the horse, which won three races, panicked arid choked himself.
He was raced on lease by Mr Muldoon and the former Minister of Transport, Colin McLachlan, from Ashburton farmers, Keith and Bevan Grice.
