Pony club trials
Ground conditions were very hard and dry. but the time penalties for the' cross-country phase heavy when the Christchurch Pony Club held the first area trials of the season at the Gray brothers’ property at Motukar’ara. recently. Twenty-one competitors entered the D.C. section for riders under 17 years and another six in the A. 1. section for riders up to 21 years. The course was 2560 m long and there were seven eliminations in the D C. class and.one in the A. 1. class. The biggest number of stops was caused by an imposing post and rail fence over a ditch which was lined with black polythene and filled with water. Results: A. 1. section.— Dressage: Charisma (S. Dearden) 1. Silver Lining (D. Nieper) 2, Honeyglow (A. Carlyon) 3, Missoula (N.Fuller) 4. Over-all: Honeyglow 1, Salvador (C. Mayhew) 2, Charisma 3, Missoula 4. D. C. section— Dressage: Carlos (T. Morrissey) 1, Calico Lad (A. Mayhew) '2, Coco (P. Chapman) 3, -Nivarnia (A. Triggs) 4. Over-alf: Carlos 1, Coco 2, Dawn Light (C. Booth) 3, Nivarnia 4.
