MANAWATU ARDEN ROYALE (Race 3), b m. 4yrs by Noodlum—Carol Storm; trained at Templeton by D. G. Jones. Improving all the time and another good run for second on first night of meeting. Drawn well and will be hardest to beat. AUCKLAND (Tomorrow) MAJESTIC RANGE (Race 2), b g. syrs. by Majestic Chance-Hilaire Hanover; trained at Cambridge by C. Hunter and G. Smith. Continued solid run of form with impressive win at Claudelands last Saturday night. Should again be too strong for his rivals tomorrow night. HORORATA HOBART STAR (Race 10), b c, 3yrs, by Timely. KnightHobart Lady: trained at Methven by S. M. Miller. Has shown ability far above average in a limited race career. Should make short work of this field. WAIPA MELVIN (Race 1), b c. 2yrs by Staff Sergeant—Lively Lass; trained at Te Awamutu by W. Sanders. Speedy youngster yet to be unplaced in four starts. Has won twice and been second once from last three starts. Has big weight but well up to it. WELLINGTON NEARCO KING (Race 6), ch g. syrs, by Double Nearco— Pago Queen; trained at Otaki by J. Didham. Convincing winner 2200 m last week. Had little luck in running when tried at this distance in Auckland Cup. WYNDHAM KNOWING (Race 8), b g, syrs, by Knowing Bret—Moira Hanover; trained by M. Skinner at Invercargill. Brilliant winner on first day. Drawn well here and should repeat.
