Entertainer guilty on drugs charge
PA Auckland An entertainer, Erana Clark, aged 22, pleaded guilty to a drugs charge when she appeared in the High Court at Auckland yesterday. She must appear for sentence within nine months-if called upon. She admitted having possession of a drinking straw for the purpose of committing an offence against the Misuse of Drugs Act.
Mr Justice Molle made an order under Section 347 of the Crimes Act discharging Clark on two other charges, incluing posSesion of a drug for the purpose of supply. His Honour said there was insufficient evidence on which a jury could find Clark guilty of those offences. His Honour said he did not know how a person of Clark’s ability and with such a promising future could become involved in the drug world. It was clear, he said, that she had been personally involved in the use of cocaine.
