Linwood bowlers win

When it comes to women’s bowls the Linwood ladies are in a class of their own. Another title went their way on Saturday when Agnus Beazley’s team won the centre open fours. And in the final she beat another .Linwood team, skipped by Lillian Wilson.. Mrs Beazley’s team was Peg Woodfield, Thelma Anderson, and Dot White and Mrs Wilson’s partners were Pat Fuller, Cleo Smith, and Pauline Needham. Mrs Beazley led for most of the final, although the scores were tied at 10-10 after nine ends. She got her winning break around the fifteenth and sixteenth ends and although Mrs Wilson picked up five points on the last two ends Mrs Beazley won comfortably, 26-22.
