Has been placed at her last two 1 starts, running on strongly each time. The 1600 m of today's event makes her look a first-class prospect to clear maiden ranks. ASHBURTON (Tomorrow) WINNING STREAK (Race 9), b m. 4 yrs. Out To Win—Luckv Carlton; trained at Belfas’t by J. Thompson. Disappointing at Addington over one mile at her latest start. Has gone well at trials since that run and expected to do better on this track. ROTORUA GHIA (Race 7), b m. 4 yrs. Crest of the Wave—Wilemina: trained at Matamata by D. J. and P. D. O’Sullivan’and M. D. Moroney. Missed out badly in C 3 metric mile at Trentham last time out after a strong -patch of form. Should find the opposition tomorrow a lot easier. Old campaigner returned to winning form at Trentham last month and should prove more than a match for the best of the others in tomorrow's cup field on a course on which he has often gone well. WANGANUI DECEETA (Race 9), b f. 3 yrs, by Decies—Jaynagh; trained at Stratford’ by R. J. Bothwell. Promising filly which looks to have fine chance of scoring overdue win here.
