Ellesmere cricket

An unbroken partnership of 182 by the W’eedons openers. John Wilson and John Calder, provided the highlight of the Ellesmere cricket competition on Saturday.

Replying to a modest 129 for six declared by Dunsandel, the W’eedons pair played their team into a strong position to lake maximum points when the match resumes at Bumham at the week-end.

Meanwhile Bumham A struggled to find’form against a confident Irwell side and Springston found Lincoln High School more than a handful. At Leeston the home side wrapped up its game against Bumham B with an innings win and the competition leader. Lincoln, is well placed for a similar result against Southbridge B. Scores:—
