NZPA staff correspondent Washington An eight-year-old broadmare, Etiquette,- in foal to Niatross, . has fetched $U5175,000 ($NZ215,250) at Meadowlands January sale. Etiquette (Bret Hanover— Decorum) went to Guida Sinder Enterprises of Morrinsville, Pennsylvania. . A catalogue of 246 racehorses and broodmares was

on offer, but only 198 sold, for a total of $U54,829,300. The auctioneers had been expecting more than $5 million. No horses went to New Zealand or Australian buyers.. .. The highest priced racehorses was Intimate, a mare which earned more than $90,000 in 1981. Intimate by Albatross out of Forbes Star.
