Unbeaten century at Nelson
An unbeaten century by Shane Jones, of North Canterbury, was the highlight of the second day's plav in the South Island primary schools' cricket tournament at Nelson yesterday. Jones' 105 not out paved the way for his team's 65-run win over Ashburton in section two. Philip Hooper spearheaded the Ashburton effort with 68 not out. In the drawn MarlboroughCanterburv match. Mark Lane and Hamish Fleming put on a third-wicket partnership of 98 for Marlborough. Ashley Flannery, of Central Otago, continued with his good bowling from the first day to take five wickets for six runs against Eastern Southland, as
well as an unbeaten 51 at the crease. For South Canterbury. Jason Ritchie took 4 35 and made 47 against Nelson. Richard Parker, of Buller, made 40 not out and took 3 30 against North Otago.
