Champion to continue
NZPA London The steeplechase jockey. Bob Champion, has emphatically denied newspaper reports that he intends to retire at the end of the current national hunt season.
"I have not spoken to anyone on the matter," he said "and I have certainly not given any thought to ending my riding career." Champion, aged 33, who earned universal admiration with his fight against cancer to win last year’s Grand National on Aldaniti. added: “I shall retire when I stop enjoying my racing, and there is no sign of that.
"One day I shall get off a horse and say 'that's it,’ but I am looking forward to continuing for some time yet."
