Boath for Aust.
Allan Boath, one of Christchurch’s four New Zealand World Cup soccer players, will be playing in Australia this season. The former Scottish youth international signed a oneyear contract with the Phillips League club, West Adelaide. during the national team’s stay in Singapore, venue for its play-off against China.
Boath made the agreement with Alan Vest, the former New Zealand captain who is coaching at Adelaide this year. Vest has shifted to the club from Newcastle, taking a team-mate, New Zealand’s current skipper, Steve Sumner, with him. Boath, aged 23, has spent several seasons in Christchurch since 1978 playing for Woolston W.M.C. and Christchurch Mogal United.
