Good scores in lower grades
An aggregate of more than 350 runs was evident in a presi-dent’s-grade cricket match between High School Old Boys and Bumside-West Christchurch-Uni-versity on Saturday. Darryl Small (Burnside-West) made the highest individual total in the C.C.A. competitions with, an -unbeaten 128 in his side’s innings of 188, and when Old Boys replied with 170. Peter Small contributed 60 of them. A Sydenham ninth-grade player, Jim Broad, scored 117 against East Christchurch-Shir-ley, and David Bull, of the Old Boys second XI. carried his overnight score of 87 to 110. The outstanding bowling figures were those of T. Mummery (Marist, fifth grade), who, from 12 overs and 10 maidens, took five Old Boys wickets for just two runs. Results: SECOND GRADE
