Stable-hand improving
The young stable-hand who was badly injured when his mount galloped into a tree at Riccarton . racecourse last Saturday is improving in Christchurch Hospital.
Richard Wirepa, aged 16, of Wellington, has been moved from the intensivecare unit to a ward, but remains on the seriously ill list.
