Open Bay Islands
Judge Smith reserved decision in the Maori Land Court at Hokitika yesterday on the question of who owns the Open Bay Islands, skm off the coast at Okuru in South Westland. No title to the islands, covering about 15ha and including a small reef, is recorded by either the Lands and Survey Department or the Maori Affairs Department.
