No poll taken

Many shareholders present at the annual meeting’ of the New Zealand Farmers Cooperative Association of Canterbury, Ltd, yesterday showed their displeasure at a proposed change in the articles of association which would have given the directors power to pay pensions to non-executive directors. As a result the chairman, Mr H. W. Revell, did not proceed with a poll, although

the directors had enough proxies in their favour to carry any resolution. Mr Revell said that the directors did not want to proceed with a measure that shareholders were not happy with. The meeting paid a tribute to Mr R. H. Clark, a director and former chairman of the company, who retired from the board after an association of almost 55 years with New Zealand Farmers.
