Bonus bonds

Sir,—l wish to protest about the allocation of the Post Office bonus bonds prize increase, announced by the Post-master-General. No normal person could need or use the $200,000 to be offered in place of the $lOO,OOO first prize. To assist all, especially the small investor like myself to obtain some return on investment, the extra $lOO,OOO should be divided into more additional smaller prizes than already announced. The same should apply to the special weekly draw as the chances of a small investor are so remote that, in my experience, no interest is shown. A number of smaller prizes would create more interest and use to many more investors. Even a $25 draw is some return and raises a hope that one month, one may obtain a reasonable return on investment. If I was fortunate enough to win a first prize, I would be glad to receive the $lOO,OOO, or $50,000, and know many others were sharing the balance, $lOO,OOO or $150,000 which I could not use anyway.—Yours, etc., E. V. NETTLETON. December 3, 1981.
