General Election
Sir,—"Without mincing matters let me say right away that I have never said that ‘I did not want to have anything to do with Social Credit.’ On the contrary I have, in all my speeches, been warning monetary reformers against allowing themselves to be divided at the polls by enemies within their ranks. I am the mouthpiece of a movement which is pledged to provide purchasing power which will equate production. We claim that there is no other solution of the economic depression that is crucifying' humanity today." So wrote Michael Joseph Savage M.P. on January 3, 1934, in a private communication. I. and possibly 336,000 Socred voters would welcome the comments of the "retiring" president of tne Labour Party, Mr J. P. Anderton, to the w’riting of Mr Savage, the Labour Party’s first Prime Minister. It should, indeed, prove interesting reading—Yours, etc., B. L. RAMSBOTTOMISHERWOOD. December 1, 1981.
