Canterbury stakes increased
Stakes have been increased by $7450 for the Canterbury, Park Club’s New Year meeting’at Addington Raceway on January 1 cind.4. The increases are due to' the , club’s successful rugby club’s meeting in October and, sponsorship. The Standardbred Breeders’ Stakes on. the first night, will -now be worth $20,000, against $17,500, while .the''AhSett3F|ying'’Mile on the second night will- carry a stake of $lO,OOO. This is up by $2OOO. on the stake for the New Year Free-for-all Which it replaces. . The. club has. lifted its schedule so that maiden horses‘will now race for . $2400 (up $200), Cl horses for $2600 (up $200), C2 horses for $3OOO (up $250), C 3 horses for $3400 (up $250) C 4 horses for $3900 (up $300), and C 5 horses for $4300 (up $300).
