PA Dunedin A Te Anau glider pilot, David Speight, won the open class section of the South Island gliding championships, which finished at Alexandra at the week-end. I. Evans, of Nelson, and B. Drake, of Canterbury, were
second and third, respectively. P. Southerden, of Nelson, and N. Ackroyd, of Canterbury, were first and second respectively, in the standard section, and R. Henderson of Wigram, and P. Galloway of Mt Cook, were second and third in the club competition.
