Situations Vacant RETAIL MANAGEMENT A national company with branches in every area in New Zealand wishes to make some appointments of people either with retail or other suitable experience and capable of being trained for retail management. No particular age is envisaged as the main attributes which make a good retailer are what are wanted. They are a genuine liking for people plus the ability to organise oneself and others and plenty of energy. The Company is run on modern lines with particular emphasis on people with the objective of providing the opportunity for everyone to progress as rapidly and as far as their own abilities will allow. Successful applicants would be employed initially as close to their homes as possible but unless living in the two major centres they would have to expect to accept a transfer for eventual promotion to management or for further training. The time taken for training will depend entirely on the aptitude shown by each person. The last four appointments made earlier this year were of people who are all now managing their own branches. Payment during training will depend entirely on experience and personal circumstances but applicants can be assured that the rates will be competitive. Managers are paid on a sale related to results and this year those in the largest branches will earn over $20,000.
