Rixen dispute
Sir,—The workers at the Rixen factory deserve our recognition for their courage in a dispute which is not simply one of redundancy compensation but one of human decency and dignity,. Their resolution in the face of such generosity from their employer (no redundancy pay or negotiation “until hell freezes over”) deserves, of course, much more than just .recognition. But may I, Sir, through your columns (I am sorry if this sounds pompous) salute the courage of Norm MacFarlane, Lynne Wood and all the others “sitting-in” at Levin. — Yours, etc., K. FEA November 14, 1981.
