National Party policy
Sir,—Having read excerpts in "The Press,” of a commentary by the “Economist,” London, on National’s “Think Big” policy for New Zealand, I, as a layman can only indignantly conclude that even in the world’s renowned newspapers, academic journalism can audaciously criticise the actions of a government in another country, simplify the complexities therein, and have the gall to suggest to a working and advised caucus that a mere journalist is more clued-up than they. This is surely “tadpole mentality” — endowed with a big head full of academic aspirations and deductions, but so obviously lacking the body of experience.—Yours, etc.,
R. B. OLAUSEN November 12, 1981.
