Award to Davenport
PA Auckland Stuart Davenport has been named New' Zealand’s squash racket player of the year. Regarded as potentially the greatest New Zealand squash player, the 18-year-old Auckland University student has already won the British junior amateur championship. He will leave shortly on a
four-month tour of Europe to continue his progress in squash. Davenport gained the award ahead of another outstanding young junior, Susan Devoy. the New Zealand women's team member, Robyn Blackwood, the New Zealand champion, Annette Owen, and Murray Day, the immediate past chairman of the International Squash Rackets Federation.
