University Vacancies THE UNIVERSITY OF THE SOUTH PACIFIC LECTURER SENIOR LECTURER IN EDUCATION (Post 81/96) THE successful candidate is expected to have earned credentials beyond the beetle- | lot's degree, to have had a variety of experiences in secondary and post-secondary institutions. including no less than three years of university teaching. The successful candidate will be expected to supervise the instruction in the foundation course usually called. "Education and Society"; to teach both Internal and external degree and diploma students: to supervise students during their school experience; to assist, as feasible, in the Post Graduate Certificate in Teaching programme; and to contribute to the general development of the discipline. Salary will be in accordance with qualifications and experience in the Lecturer scale: F 59902F 513.859 or Senior Lecturer scale: F514.317-F516.806. In addillon the University provides gratuity amounting io 15 per cent of basic salary, appointment allowance and. subject to the University's current housing policy, partly turnished accommodation at a rental or 12-_ per cent of salary. The University will pay an allowance in lieu of superannuation of 10 per cent of standard salary. MASSEY UNIVERSITY PALMERSTON NORTH DEPARTMENTAL DEMONSTRATOR IN ZOOLOGY APPLICATIONS are invited for a position as Demonstrator in Zoology, in the Department of Botany and Zoology. Duties consist of supervising first year laboratory classes in zoology. The appointee will be expected to enrol for the Ph.D. degree and the qualifications required are a good Honours degree in zoology. The successful candidate will have an interest in teaching and a capacity lor research. The Department's research interests are broad, and the Ph.D. research topic would be chosen from one of the following areas: ecology, behavioural ecology and behaviour of indigenous and introduced invertebrates and vertebrates, soil zoology, limnology, pest management. insect-plant rela-' tionshlps or insect physicology.
