The position involves development and maintenance of data processing systems essential to the administrative function of the University. Evaluation of present systems, with a view to redesign suitable for an on-line environment, is imminent. The Registry is the largest user of the University's 86700 computer to which It lias 3 TD--800 terminals attached. A 85930 is expected to replace the 86700 early in 1982 and the Registry will be linked through an RJE shortly after that. Further VDUs are expected for on-line inquiry. The successful applicant should have had responsibility tor the development or successful projects and should be familiar with modern systems analysis methods and project management- techniques. Some COBOL or PL/I experience and exposure to data base methodology would be an advantage. Motivation and the ability to work unsupervised tor extended periods yet be an integral part of a small dedicated team, is necessary.
