Skybus board member resigns
PA Auckland A member of the Aqua Avia Society board resigned yesterday. . Mr John Trolove, the former deputy chairman of the board, described his action as rather drastic but necessary. He said he was resigning because he no longer had any faith in the board’s ability to administer an airline operation. Mr Trolove said that if he remained on the board he would be failing in his duties to ordinary members of the society. However, he said, he would remain manager of the airline division of the Piako Aero Club, which was set up
for the benefit of Skybus members. The Piako Aero Club is responsible for the operation of the aircraft the society plans to use. In another development yesterday, ' executive members of the Piako Aero Club travelled to Wellington to see Civil Aviation Division officials. They took the documentation that needed departmental approval before an air service certificate could be issued for the aircraft. They hope that the division will give its stamp of approval to the documents today. Once they have that approval they will be able to set a date for beginning scheduled services.
