NZPA-Reuter Tokyo The United States, aiming for their sixth straight victory, easily advanced into the second round by beating South Korea, 3-0, in the world women’s team tennis championship, the Federation Cup, at Tokyo yesterday. There were no big upsets after two days of competition with all eight seeded nations surviving the first
round in the best-of-three matches, two singles and one doubles. New Zealand went down to the Greek team in yesterday’s round: Christine Newton lost to Angeliki Kanellopoulos 4-6, 4-6; Judy Chaloner beat Denise Panagopoulos 36, 6-2, 6-4; and Newton and Linda Stewart lost to Kanellopoulos and Panagopoulos 36, 3-6.
