Body found on beach

PA New Plymouth The body of a Wakaiwau man who disappeared 13 days ago after going fishing is believed to have been found. A body was washed up on Kiritehere beach on Saturday, 15km south of where John Gray, aged 54, went missing on October 21. The Te Kuiti police said that the body would be identified today at the Waikato Hospital in Hamilton. Mr Gray, manager of Nukuhakari station, left to go fishing from a place known as The Jetty, which consists of a rocky, outcrop at the base of a 20m cliff-face. At the time it was believed that Mr Gray had been swept out to sea, the same fate which befell a man and. his son at the same spot about three years ago.
