Man on rape charge
PA Auckland A teenager was remanded in custody when he appeared jn the District Court at Papakura yesterday on charges of rape and burglary.
Judge Gilbert remanded Nio Paiti, aged 18, in custody for a week after rejecting an application for bail. He ordered that Paiti be kept apart from other prisoners. No pleas were taken. The rape charge follows an alleged attack on a Manurewa housewife on Thursday.
