Katherine Mansfield competition
Sir—l note with pleasure and pride that the four prizes in the Katherine Mansfield competition were won this year by four women, and with horror that all four dealt with deathly aspects of life, recollections in a rest home, dying, a funeral, ghosts. Not having read them'all I can say is that the titles and subject matter make a disturbing commentary on the experiences and expectations of women. Horrors!— Yours, etc., SUSAN TAYLOR. October 16, 1981.
