The identity of the thieves of the valuable palms from the Botanic-A'Gardens /bn Wednesday night may be discovered as a result of yesterday's report in “The Press" about the incident. ; After reading' the article yesterday morning, someone telephoned the curator of the Botanic Gardens Mr' Alan
Jolliffe. and reported-seeing a car being driven in Christchurch that night with .a - leafy cargo. ' Mr Jolliffe passed the information .on to the police. . Six valuable old palms were stolen from the tropical glasshouse in the gardens on Wednesday, night after thieves broke in through a / window*
