Belle Lin disqualified

PA Wellington The five-year-old mare, Belle Lin, has been disqualified from her win and five stake-earning placings of last season. This is the result of a charge preferred by the chief racecourse inspector, Mr Jim Fleming, against Mark Rjchard Waldron, who was a lessee of Belle Lin. The charge referred to the period between June 26,1980, and May 2 this year. On

Tuesday a sub-committee of the executive committee of the New Zealand Racing Conference found that Waldron was not eligible to have • an interest in the racing of a horse. The committee, comprising Messrs E. C. W. Nathan (chairman), N. J. Collins, and W. E. W. Ormond, however, did not inflict any penalty on Waldron and made no order as to costs. Belle Lin, which was

trained at Hawara by Peter Moseley, won stakes totalling $2240 which included a maiden win at Woodville in February. The committee directed that the stake money be refunded to the secretary of the Racing Conference. Belle Lin’s win was in the Golden Wings Maiden at the Pahiatua Racing Club’s meeting and the amended placings are now: Cashel 1, Onward Call 2, Betcha 3, New Born 4.
