A scientist operates a tracking device which can be used to find out what and who is producing air pollution. Called Dial, the laser gun shoots two beams over a range of 3km which are used to measure the density of industrial and other gases. The unit, which can be mounted on the back of a truck, has been developed for the Electric Power Research Institute of Palo Alto, California.
