Sunny offers economy and comfort
After a reduction in demand for motor vehicles throughout the world during 1980, there has been a noticeable increase in sales for the year 1981 todate. The demand onn the whole has moved towards smaller, fuelefficient cars which offer larger car comfort and performance: This world-wide trend is very noticeable in New Zealand where Japanese cars are capturing over 70 per cent of the market — — the Japanese are renowned for their skill in making compact cars. The new Datsun Sunny ZX (left) has arrived on the New Zealand market at a time when fuel efficiency and comfort in a compact vehicle are the primary requirements of most new vehicle purchasers. The Sunny ZX has a new
1500 cu.' cm engine, producing 84 b.h.p.,yvith a choice of either five speed manual transmission or three speed automatic. This new engine gives the car very responsive motoring, while retaining economy.
But the changes to the Sunny ZX go even further. Changes on the outside include black propolene bumpers, honeycomb grille and electrically powered rear vision mirrors.
On stepping inside, you enter a new dimension' of small car luxury with German “Thiel” velour seats and thick cut-pile carpet. Instrumentation and standard equipment include such niceties as quartz digital clock, tachometer, intermittent windscreen wiper function, and an impressive array of warning and indicator lights.
